An Energy Tax Credit For A Geothermal Heat Pump? Take It To The BankHow do you win the war against increasing costs for cooling and heating your home? If you're considering an HVAC system upgrade, a good place to start is a geothermal heat pump. While costly, your return on investment will get a major boost once you take advantage of a substantial federal energy tax credit for installing a geothermal system.

According to EnergySavers.gov, you can receive an energy tax credit of 30 percent of your total cost for qualified systems, including installation. While other federal energy tax credits expired at the end of 2011, this tax credit (and a similar one for solar systems) is available until Dec. 31, 2016. This credit is applicable to geothermal heat pump installations on your primary or second home.

Between the tax credit and an average energy savings between 30 and 60 percent yearly, most customers will see their initial investment in a geothermal heating and cooling system recouped within two to 10 years. You can also find special financing incentives that are geared toward covering energy-saving improvements to your home.

Don't miss out! Learn how you can earn an energy tax credit on eligible geothermal heat pump installations when you contact the experts at Hartman Brothers Heating & Air Conditioning. We have been serving the Fort Wayne area with professional and reliable service since 1963.
