"Ked came on time for my semi-annual scheduled appointment, checked out the furnace and changed the filter. He spent a considerable amount of time trying to track and fix a problem with my smart hub, but stayed with it until we think it is fixed. This is the third HVAC system I have purchased from Hartman Brothers over the past 40 years and I have always been pleased with their service, product and personnel. That is why I still use them. Took them awhile to convince me the annual maintenance program is a good deal, but with all the electronics in the new systems, the system needs care and feeding from a professional! While there are a multitude of home improvement projects that homeowners might want to attempt themselves, putting in a furnace usually isn't one of them. First and foremost is the fact that an improper furnace installation can have deadly consequences. Furnaces produce carbon monoxide, which can be deadly to humans in high enough concentrations. Improper furnace ventilation can lead to such concentrations. This is part of the reason many jurisdictions will require you to get a permit to attempt such a project on your own, as well require a post-installation inspection.
