"Love these people! We bought a brand new furnace and ac a year ago. For some crazy reason something happened to the ac Sunday when it was 91 degrees . I had a service guy here Sunday and Monday... "Ked came on time for my semi-annual scheduled appointment, checked out the furnace and changed the filter. He spent a considerable amount of time trying to track and fix a problem with my smart hub, but stayed with it until we think it is fixed. This is the third HVAC system I have purchased from Hartman Brothers over the past 40 years and I have always been pleased with their service, product and personnel. That is why I still use them. Took them awhile to convince me the annual maintenance program is a good deal, but with all the electronics in the new systems, the system needs care and feeding from a professional! The HVAC industry welcomes diversity in terms of a person's background, gender, and ethnicity. Even so, there has always been a shortage of women who have decided to make it their career. To illustrate the impact that women in HVAC history have had on the industry, we would like to discuss two important standouts - Margaret Engels and Alice Parker.
The concept of HVAC has been around for thousands of years. The ancient Romans and Greeks used channels under marble flooring to distribute heat. However, it was until 1902 that the modern A/C idea was launched by Willis Carrier. Today's systems have experienced tremendous technological upgrades that make them significantly different from the older ones. Let's explore the recent HVAC history that has contributed to that.
