"Love these people! We bought a brand new furnace and ac a year ago. For some crazy reason something happened to the ac Sunday when it was 91 degrees . I had a service guy here Sunday and Monday... Under normal conditions, you shouldn't have to add refrigerant to your HVAC system. The refrigerant doesn't get consumed – it travels in a loop through the system, absorbing heat at the indoor evaporator coil, and releasing it at the condenser coil into the outdoor air. When there's an HVAC leak, you may be able to detect it by these telltale signs:
