Evaluate Your Home for Heat Loss Before it Costs You this WinterYour home’s heat can escape through gaps and even the smallest cracks, but heat loss doesn’t stop there. Heat travels toward cooler areas, and if its path isn’t properly blocked by insulating materials, it will be conducted and transmitted out of the home through exterior walls and window glass. By discovering heat’s escape routes and eliminating or reducing them, your home will feel more comfortable, your heating system won’t have to work as hard and you will save money.

Lowering Your Heating And Cooling Load: A Landscaping StrategyReducing your home's heating and cooling load can be a homegrown strategy. The terms refer to the amount of energy required to maintain a comfortable interior temperature.  In winter, that’s the heating load, and in the summer it's the cooling load. A house with too much of either is energy inefficient and costing you money. Methods to reduce the load on your home include weatherizing, adding insulation and sealing ducts. But a natural “green” option exists, too. Energy-saving landscaping positions trees to lower the heating and cooling load by blocking solar heat in summer while still allowing the sun to warm the house in winter. "Came home from work to find that my furnace wasn't working. Since the temperatures were extremely mild for November, I just left a message for them to call me the next day. Received a call by 7:25 am and told that the repair man would be there in approximately a half hour. He was at my house by 8:30 and he had it back running within 45 minutes. He went the extra step and made sure that there was no other possible issues before he left. I'd recommend Hartman Brothers Heating to anyone, they are courteous, reliable, knowledgeable and won't gouge you like some companies."
