What to Know About C-Wire If you’re upgrading your HVAC thermostat, it’s a good thing to find out in advance if your existing system provides a c-wire. Today’s smart thermostats provide a great deal more options and convenience such as wifi connectivity and a bigger, brighter, multi-functional control screen. These improvements typically draw more electricity than the existing thermostat you’re replacing. The c-wire (“c” stands for “common”) is an important extra electrical wire that enables continuous 24-volt power to operate newer smart thermostats. If you don’t have one installed with your existing model, you’ll probably need to have it installed in order to adequately power the new unit.

"We reached out to Hartman Brothers as our previous place was actually rude and acted like didnt care as we had an issue with the AC. Our systems at that point were about 14 years old. We got a quote from previous place and i about fell off my chair. Called Hartman Brothers and asked if they could provide a quote for us on both and in AC alone. Super impressed as Rick came out next morning. Looked at what we currently had and that same day had a complete quote to us. We were scheduled for May 26 install however they had a cancellation and came out May 17. Both techs were super amazing. Talked with us with everything and answered all of our questions. They came out a little before 8am and everything was installed and working by 2pm. Cleaned up their stuff ( which was great as we have 3 dogs). Never have we experienced this type of professionalism from any company. We are all so pleased with Hartman Brothers including Vicki in the office. She was great helping me and explaining the maintenance agreement. If you ever need a great team you wont be disappointed with Hartman Brothers !
